Wetland SOS

The WV Save Our Streams Program does not have an official wetland monitoring program; however the program coordinator has completed several wetland monitoring demonstrations and worked with volunteer organizations in the past to monitor thier local wetlands using a level-one survey modified for wetlands.

The focus of this survey is to evaluate the basic chemical, physical and biological conditions of wetland habitats. Before completing a wetland biosurvey the Program recommends completing a wetland walk to characterize the site. Use the Wetland Walk Manual and other appropriate resources as your guide.
