DEP and WVU Industrial Extension Service Sponsor Environmental Compliance and Permitting Seminar in Wheeling

 

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – A seminar designed to inform businesses and organizations about state and federal environmental regulations will be held from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Dec. 18 in Wheeling. Cabela’s, located at 1 Cabela Drive, will host the seminar.

The seminar will be conducted by Dr. Terry Polen, ombudsman for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, in coordination with the West Virginia University Industrial Extension Service. Polen will discuss the following topics: required permits; Spill Pollution Control and Countermeasures (SPCC); regulations for used oil, hazardous and solid waste; oil and gas permitting; toxic release inventories; Aboveground Storage Tank (AST) rules and developing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Groundwater Protection Plans (GPP).
