Public hearing scheduled for Morgan County wastewater treatment facility

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection will conduct a public hearing on a draft NPDES permit to acquire, construct, install, operate and maintain a wastewater collection system and treatment plant for the Coolfront Village development in Morgan County at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, at The Ice House, located at 138 Independence St., in Berkeley Springs.

The public hearing was originally scheduled for a different location, Bath Town Hall, but was moved for space reasons.

Berkeley Springs Development, LLC. is applying for a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit (NPDES) for a wastewater treatment plant that will serve approximately 5,500 people and discharge treated wastewater through Outlet No. 001 into Sir John’s Run, approximately 4.47 miles from its mouth into the Potomac River.
