Community meeting in Prenter to discuss DEP’s study of water supplies

Residents of the Prenter Road community are invited to attend a public meeting to discuss a comprehensive study of water supplies in the Prenter/Sand Lick Area of Boone County.

The meeting will take place Monday, Dec. 6 beginning at 6 p.m. at the Racine Community Center, located at 446 John Slack Circle behind the public library and across from the volunteer fire department.

The purpose of the meeting is to help residents understand the scope of the study, what kind of samples would be taken and how they will be taken.

There will be representatives from the DEP, the West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources and Triad Engineering, which is the firm conducting the study for the DEP.

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection worked with local resident Maria Lambert to organize the meeting.

For more information about the meeting, residents may call the DEP’s Office of Environmental Advocate at 800-654-5227.
