Instructions

This schedule is developed as a forecast of blaster training and exam dates. They may be subject to change. Always contact the Blaster Certification section to register and to confirm dates a minimum of 10 days before appearing at the training or exam.

Required application forms and fees must be submitted prior to attendance to the exam. Payments for exam fee and study guide can be made the day of the training or exam. All applicants and attendees should be at the WV DEP office lobby at 7:30-7:45 am to check-in, submit any forms, and pay any fees due.

The training session will be from 8 am to 5 pm with a noon break. The exam will begin at 8 am. The training and exams sessions will be conducted at the WV DEP Office located at 601 57th Street, SE Charleston, WV 25304.

Blasting Certification Study Guide

This study guide was designed as an aid for the surface mine blaster who wishes to take the certification examination. In order to be certified, an individual must apply for certification to the WDEP. This document is organized to assist the blaster in preparing for the West Virginia Surface Mine Blaster's Certification Examination.
