Public Notice for 2024 Proposed DAQ Legislative Rules

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (DEP), Division of Air Quality (DAQ) has scheduled a public hearing for its 2024 proposed legislative rules to be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023. The public hearing will be held virtually. Instructions for participating and for providing oral comments are provided in the public notice. The public comment period begins June 2, 2023, and ends at the conclusion of the public hearing on July 6, 2023. Written comments may be submitted at any time during the public comment as instructed in the public notice and must be received by 5:00 p.m. on July 6, 2023. Both oral and written comments will be made part of the rulemaking record. Comments received after the conclusion of the public comment period will not be accepted.

    To participate online or by telephone, registration is required by 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, July 6, 2023. To register to speak, please indicate “yes” you want to provide verbal comments on the record when you register. A confirmation e-mail will be sent with our responses when you register and information on how to join the public hearing will be sent after registration closes on July 6, 2023.

Division of Mining and Reclamation

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection (WVDEP), Division of Mining and Reclamation (DMR, has scheduled a public hearing for its 2022 proposed legislative rule on Thursday, October 14, 2021 starting at 6 p.m. at WVDEP Headquarters in Charleston, W.Va.

The hearing will be held in the Coopers Rock Conference Room at WVDEP Headquarters located at 601 57th St. S.E., Charleston, WV 25304. The room is located in the rear of the building and parking is available.

Both oral and written comments will be made part of the rulemaking record. The public comment period ends at 5 p.m. on Friday, October 15, 2021.

Written comments may be submitted via email to Charles.S.Sturey@wv.gov with "Proposed DMR Rule 47-30B Comments" in the subject line. Hard copies can be mailed to the attention of Charles Sturey at the WVDEP, Division of Mining and Reclamation, 601 57th Street SE, Charleston, WV 25304.
