The following are resources for the mapping tool.

  • West Virginia Stream Gauges

Current data typically are recorded at 15- to 60-minute intervals, stored onsite, and then transmitted to USGS offices every 1 to 4 hours, depending on the data relay technique used. Recording and transmission times may be more frequent during critical events. Data from current sites are relayed to USGS offices via satellite, telephone, and/or radio telemetry and are available for viewing within minutes of arrival.

  • Latitude/Longitude Converter

Datum conversions for latitude and longitude values.

  • WVGES Gas Pipeline

The Survey's "pipeline" system provides public access, through a Web browser, to oil and gas well data for more than 134,000 oil and gas wells.

  • WV Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council GIS Data Portal

The West Virginia Infrastructure and Jobs Development Council (IJDC) and the West Virginia Water Development Authority (WDA), in order to maximize the use of infrastructure funds and address the needs of the unserved and underserved population of West Virginia, retained CDM Smith Inc. to help develop several technology tools, including this Geographic Information System (GIS), to help manage, prioritize, track, and accelerate the planning and completion of infrastructure projects.

  • WV Flood Tool

The West Virginia Flood Tool is designed to provide floodplain managers, insurance agents, developers, real estate agents, local planners and citizens with an effective means by which to make informed decisions about the degree of flood risk for a specific area or property.
