The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Division of Air Quality (DAQ) will hold a virtual public meeting on Wednesday, August 26, 2026, at 6 p.m. to receive comments regarding Union Carbide Corporation’s (UCC) air quality permit applications R13-3727 and R13-1991D. UCC has voluntarily requested New Source Review permits for different plants within the existing UCC Institute facility. UCC is not requesting any increase in emissions as part of the permit applications.
DAQ staff members will provide a presentation before taking comments from the public. The public comment period has been extended to 5:00 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026. Pre-registration is required and available using the link below or by calling 304-926-0499 ext. 41256.
