Public Meeting on Water Quality Standards Set For April 7

 

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Water Quality Standards Program Quarterly Meeting will be on Tuesday, April 7, from 2:00PM to 4:00PM.

During the public meeting, DEP staff will discuss 2015 legislative revisions to the Requirements Governing Water Quality Standards (47CSR2) to be submitted to the Environmental Protection Agency, including the recent Category A designation for the lower Kanawha River.

DEP staff will also discuss and receive input on proposed revisions to 47CSR2, including proposed changes to selenium and aluminum criteria, and give an update on algae monitoring done by DEP in 2014.

The public meeting will be held at DEP headquarters in Charleston at 601 57th Street SE.
