Re-Fashion Show scheduled for Saturday at Town Center

Those with a flair for fashion creativity, with a recycling twist, will display their talents this Saturday when the Charleston Town Center Mall hosts the 12th annual West Virginia Re-Fashion Show.

Sponsored by the Recycling Coalition of West Virginia, the Re-Fashion Show begins at 1 p.m. at Macy’s Court. Registration opens at 11 a.m.

Participants in the show will be divided into two age groups, 13-and-under, and 14-and-over. Outfits must be made from recyclable or reused materials and modeled in one of the four following categories:

• Coca-Cola Challenge – Outfits must be made using Coke-brand products.
• Charleston Town Center Theme – Outfits must be made from mall merchant materials.
• Charleston Newspaper Challenge – Outfits must be made from newspapers.
• General Theme – Any non-specific themed item will be entered in this category.

Overall winners in each age group will receive $250 for first place; $200 for second place and $150 for third place. Prizes also will be awarded in each of the themed categories.

The Recycling Coalition of West Virginia is a non-profit environmental organization whose mission is to promote the effective and sustainable reduction, reuse, and recycling of materials otherwise destined for disposal.
