WVDEP extending comment period for revisions to restoration plan for Lower Guyandotte River Watershed

10/4/2021

CHARLESTON, W.Va. – The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s (WVDEP) Division of Water and Waste Management (DWWM) is extending the comment period for revisions to the draft Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs) for select streams in the Lower Guyandotte River watershed (downstream of Logan, WV). These TMDLs were originally released on June 15, 2021.

Specific revisions were needed to correct a margin of safety calculation for one dissolved aluminum TMDL and to reduce fecal coliform loads from pasture land use in the watershed to attain water quality standards. WVDEP is releasing applicable allocation spreadsheets and a public report, including notes on revisions. For detailed information and resources for the TMDL, visit www.dep.wv.gov/wvtmdl and select the Lower Guyandotte watershed in the Hydrologic Group C list at the bottom of the page. An interactive overview of the project is available here: https://arcg.is/0qjmCm.

Comments must be submitted no later than Thursday, November 4, 2021 and should be emailed or mailed to:
