WVDEP conducting public meeting on water quality standards

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection’s Water Quality Standards Program will conduct a public meeting from 3:30 to 5 p.m., on Wednesday, April 24, at WVDEP headquarters in Charleston.

The meeting will take place in the Coopers Rock Conference Room. Staff from the WVDEP will discuss revisions that will be included for the 2014 Triennial Review and will provide an overview of the Triennial Review process.

The WVDEP is required by the federal Clean Water Act to conduct a comprehensive review of the state water quality standards every three years. This Triennial Review allows input from all interested stakeholders. All revisions must be approved by the state legislature before final approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
