West Virginia DEP and WVU Sponsor Environmental Compliance and Permitting Seminar

 

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. – A seminar designed to inform businesses and organizations about state and federal environmental regulations will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Oct. 2 in Martinsburg. The Holiday Inn, located at 301 Foxcroft Ave., will host the seminar.

The seminar will be conducted by Dr. Terry Polen, Ombudsman for the West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection, in coordination with the West Virginia University Industrial Extension Service. Polen will discuss the following topics: required permits, the permitting process, spill pollution control and countermeasures, regulations for used oil, hazardous and solid waste, Tier II, toxic release inventories and developing Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP) and Ground Water Protection Plans (GWP).
